Kurt Velmeke's

We would like to thank Mr. Velmeke for 40 years of highly successful collaboration.

The sales talents of Kurt Velmeke were recognized at an early stage. Georg Zippel recruited him as his personal assistant and sales manager in the 1960s. Our first contact with him was established during his collaboration on a project with the Hänel company. With a view to establishing his own sales organization, Gerhard Hänel enlisted Mr. Velmeke in 1971 at the age of 30 and gave him full responsibility for setting up the Hänel distribution network. At the same time as Mr. Velmeke was hired, Hänel Office Systems was founded as a sales company and was later renamed Hänel Office and Industrial Storage Systems.

Initially Kurt Velmeke operated as a kind of "one-man-show" – secretary, office clerk, salesman and sales manager in one person. Very soon he succeeded in setting up a functioning distribution network in Germany and abroad. His gift for combining performance with humanity was the ideal qualification for this. When the industrial storage systems were launched at the end of the 70s, Kurt Velmeke was successful in preparing the distribution team for the new challenges.

Thanks to his support, Hänel Office and Industrial Storage Systems is today one of the world's leading providers of automated storage systems.
    
On April 1 this year, Harald Ellwanger took over his post as Head of Distribution. We are delighted to have found the right man to succeed him.



We are pleased that Mr. Velmeke will continue to work for our company in a consultative capacity and support Mr. Ellwanger in the services sector.
